Do I need to rinse a whole chicken before I cook and roast it?
I would recommend against it.
I would recommend against it. In terms of food safety guidelines, the advice from the Food Safety Information Council (FSIC) is not to wash it, so as to avoid splashing raw meat juices and bacteria spreading over the sink and bench space. Nothing is going to go wrong if you don’t wash your chicken before cooking it. Some people might say you’re washing away flavour.
