I’d recommend searching for a job on the internet like most other jobs. There’s plenty of agri-recruiters out there looking for people for the industry
On our farm our stock is number 1 priority so we move them out of the way at any stage if there is a risk of fire. We also run a lot of machinery that we can utilize to protect our assets and our stock. We certainly utilize them early to prepare early.
I want my children to follow their passions. If they’re passionate about farming they’re welcome on the farm. If they’re passionate about something else I’d rather them follow that.
There are regulations in the industry to ensure that we do not run cattle on pastures that have been sprayed within a certain timeframe, and those are tested through abattoirs on a regular basis. We have to adhere to those for our own safety and for yours.

Having a really great team around us is key to managing the pressures of farming. It starts with our family, our staff on farm, but then it goes to consultants, bankers, accountants, and other farmers are really important
Me personally, I get very very upset about it because a lot of people don’t take the time to actually learn what is actually happening.
